About the Firm DeFrancesco Law is a boutique intellectual property firm based in Princeton, NJ, representing clients across the world in trademark, patent, and IP litigation matters. We combine the sophistication of big-firm work with the agility and personal touch of a small practice. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Trademark Litigation Attorney with strong TTAB and federal litigation experience who’s ready to take ownership of their cases, collaborate directly with clients, and help shape the future of our expanding IP practice.
Why DeFrancesco Law This isn’t a traditional law firm role. You’ll work directly with clients, make an immediate impact, and help build a growing practice where your ideas and independence are valued. If you’re looking for meaningful IP work without the bureaucracy of a large firm, we’d love to hear from you.
Requirements
What You’ll Do You’ll work side-by-side with our founding partner on a diverse range of trademark disputes and enforcement actions. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have a direct line to clients, meaningful strategic input, and autonomy to manage matters from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Lead all phases of TTAB proceedings — from pleadings and discovery through hearings and settlements. Manage and support federal trademark litigation, coordinating with co-counsel and clients. Draft and negotiate co-existence, licensing, and settlement agreements. Advise clients on clearance, enforcement, and brand strategy. Contribute to firm growth, process improvements, and client relationships.
What We’re Looking For J.D. and active bar admission. 6+ years of trademark experience, including significant TTAB and litigation work. Ability to manage matters independently and deliver practical, business-focused advice. Excellent writing, judgment, and communication skills. A collegial, adaptable mindset — someone who enjoys working closely in a small, high-performing environment.
What We Offer Competitive salary: $135K–$160K, depending on experience and client base. Bonus potential based on performance and business development. Full benefits after an introductory period (health insurance, PTO, CLE budget). Hybrid flexibility after initial in-office training in Princeton. Opportunity for enhanced compensation or of-counsel structure if you bring existing clients.
