Fitzgibbons Law Offices, P.L.C. is seeking a dedicated and skilled attorney to join our legal team in Casa Grande, Arizona. This role primarily involves supporting the City Prosecutor in managing misdemeanor criminal matters, with responsibilities ranging from initial case review to trial advocacy and post-conviction proceedings.  We are a growing firm, so there may be opportunities to assist or work in several other practice areas as well.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities        

•         Evaluate investigative reports and determine appropriate charges for misdemeanor criminal and civil cases.
•         Draft and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and appeals.
•         Attend various court proceedings such as arraignments, restitution hearings, and probation revocations.
•         Conduct pretrial conferences, negotiate plea agreements, and coordinate with defense counsel and victims.
•         Interview witnesses, law enforcement personnel, and subject matter experts to build strong cases.
•         Advocate effectively in jury and bench trials.
•         Provide legal guidance to law enforcement on evidence collection, investigative procedures, and case strategy.
•         Prepare sentencing recommendations and restitution arguments in accordance with applicable guidelines.
•         Collaborate with court staff to ensure efficient administration of prosecutorial services.
•         Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case activities and outcomes.
•         Assist with supervising paralegals and legal secretaries working in the criminal division.

Knowledge & Skills

•         Familiarity with constitutional law, state criminal statutes, victims’ rights legislation, and procedural rules.
•         Proficient in legal research, evidence analysis, and courtroom procedures.
•         Skilled in drafting persuasive legal arguments and presenting cases clearly and logically.
•         Capable of managing a high-volume caseload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
•         Comfortable using legal software, document processing tools, and case management platforms.
•         Excellent interpersonal skills for working with law enforcement, victims, defense attorneys, and community stakeholders.

 Education & Licensing:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Arizona or eligible under Arizona Supreme Court Rule 38 with full licensure within 90 days of hire.

Special Requirements:
Must maintain active membership in good standing with the Arizona State Bar, with Arizona State Bar dues to be paid by the firm.
Must have a clean criminal background.
