Litigation Associate Attorney (2–5 Years Experience) – On-Site Position
Monshaugen & Van Huff, P.C. – Houston, Texas

Monshaugen & Van Huff, P.C. is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate with 2–5 years of experience to join our Houston office. This is an on-site position with significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and hands-on litigation work from day one.

Our firm handles a wide range of complex civil matters, including:

• Hospitality & dram-shop defense
• Commercial litigation
• Contract disputes
• Real estate and business torts
• Oil & gas and energy-sector litigation
• Federal and state court practice
• Emergency motions, TROs, injunctions, and hearings

Responsibilities:

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and dispositive filings
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
• Manage case files, calendars, deadlines, and client communications
• Conduct legal research and prepare strategy memoranda
• Work closely with partners on high-stakes litigation matters
• Handle assigned cases with increasing autonomy as skills develop

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• 2–5 years of litigation experience (civil preferred; trial experience a plus)
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic
• Must be able to work on-site in our Houston office

Preferred Experience (Not Required):

• Hospitality/TABC, dram-shop, or premises liability litigation
• Insurance defense background
• Federal practice experience
• Prior deposition, hearing, or courtroom experience
