- Judicial Staff Attorney - Two Positions
Description
The judicial staff attorney reports directly to and is supervised by the assigned judge. The primary duties of the position include researching procedural and substantive legal issues related to all aspects of Ohio law and drafting memoranda, opinions, and orders. The position is an at-will position. Hybrid work options available for one position at the judge's discretion.
Requirements
The work involves extensive legal research and the drafting of memoranda, decisions, and opinions at the judge’s direction. Applicants must be law school graduates, licensed to practice and in good standing in the State of Ohio. Applicants must demonstrate strong analytical, research, writing, and communications skills. Applicants must demonstrate discretion and sound judgment in support of the collective work of the court. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and electronic legal research are required. Any successful candidate must be able to work independently, collaboratively, and with self-discipline to meet the necessary completion of goals and contribute to the overall work of the court. Prior appellate clerkship experience and/or practice experience in criminal, civil, and/or government-related appellate law is a plus.
