We are looking for a motivated Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of experience to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission.
Position Overview
As an Associate Attorney focusing on employment law and class actions, you will play a crucial role in our legal team. This in-person position requires a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine desire to achieve the best possible results for our clients.  You will collaborate with seasoned attorneys on complex cases and help advocate for individuals and groups in their pursuit of justice.  You must also be a strong writer, capable of articulating complex legal arguments clearly and persuasively.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough research on employment law statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to ongoing cases.
- Analyze legal issues and propose creative strategies and innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Drafting Legal Documents:
- Prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
- Draft and file class action complaints or individual employment claims, incorporating unique arguments where appropriate.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to gather information, update them on case status, and provide guidance throughout the legal process.
- Represent clients during depositions, negotiations, and mediations, utilizing tailored approaches that reflect the unique aspects of each case.
- Case Preparation:
- Assist in preparing cases for trial, including organizing evidence, preparing witnesses, and developing trial strategies.
- Review and summarize depositions and discovery materials while identifying unconventional approaches that could strengthen the case.
- Litigation Support:
- Attend court hearings and trials as necessary, supporting senior attorneys in presenting cases effectively.
- Proactively suggest innovative legal tactics that may differentiate the firm’s approach from others.
- Building Client Relationships:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their situation.
- Advocate for clients’ rights and interests throughout the legal process, utilizing creative solutions to address client concerns.
- Collaboration with Legal Team:
- Work closely with partners and senior attorneys to coordinate case strategies and share insights, including brainstorming sessions to explore diverse perspectives.
- Participate in strategy meetings and discussions on complex legal issues, encouraging out-of-the-box thinking to identify new angles.
- Continuous Learning and Development:
- Stay updated on changes in employment law and relevant legal precedents.
- Attend trainings and seminars to enhance legal knowledge and skills, specifically in innovative legal practices.
- Management of Case Files:
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring that all documents are accurate and up to date.
- Track deadlines and case progress through effective case management practices, looking for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
By integrating the ability to think outside the box into these responsibilities, the Associate Attorney can contribute to more innovative and effective solutions for clients in employment law cases.
Qualifications
- Admitted to the California Bar.
- 0-3 years of experience in litigation, preferably with a focus on employment law or class actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional work.
- Motivated to achieve the best outcomes for clients and passionate about employee rights.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary of $120,000 per year.
